How Layer Ops handles information

Version 2026-05-27

Plain-English summary

Layer Ops collects the information needed to quote, make, ship, support, and document custom fabrication work. We do not sell personal information or use customer uploads for targeted advertising.

This policy is written for the public site, guest checkout, project uploads, Stripe checkout, and the internal operations app behind Layer Ops.

What we collect

Layer Ops collects the information you choose to provide when you contact us, request a quote, buy a catalogue item, submit a print or engraving request, or use an internal account. That can include your name, contact details, email address, phone number, company, project notes, product selections, quantity, deadline, shipping address, uploaded artwork, model files, reference images, and design/file rights consent records.

For account and operations features, we may keep login details, role and security settings, two-factor authentication status, generation records, order history, credit or subscription records, payment references, uploaded files, output files, and support or production notes.

The site also receives normal technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring page, approximate region, timestamps, cookies or similar identifiers needed for sign-in, and usage events from Vercel Analytics.

How we use it

We use personal information to answer messages, review project details, prepare quotes, process orders, upload and review files, make or fulfill physical products, arrange local pickup or shipping, send order and support emails, handle account access, maintain security, improve the site, troubleshoot problems, and keep business records.

Uploaded customer artwork, model files, logos, STL files, photos, reference images, and notes are used to quote, prepare, make, fulfill, support, and document the request you submitted. The separate Terms explain ownership and production rights for customer-provided files and generated outputs.

Payments and service providers

Layer Ops uses Stripe for online checkout, payment processing, receipts, tax-related checkout features when enabled, and payment status updates. Stripe receives payment and checkout information needed to process the transaction. Layer Ops does not store full card numbers.

We use service providers to run the site and business workflow, including hosting, analytics, private file storage, database services, email delivery, order notification delivery, payment processing, shipping quote or fulfillment support, security tooling, and development or maintenance tools. These providers may process information only as needed to provide those services.

Sharing

Layer Ops does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers, payment and fulfillment partners, people working on Layer Ops operations, or when required to comply with law, protect rights, prevent fraud or abuse, complete a business transfer, or handle a request you asked us to process.

If you submit a shipping order, the recipient name, shipping address, phone number, package details, and related order information may be shared with shipping or fulfillment providers as needed to deliver the item.

Cookies and analytics

The site may use cookies or similar browser storage for required functions such as sign-in, checkout state, security, and basic site operation. Vercel Analytics helps us understand aggregate site usage and performance without us building advertising profiles.

Because Layer Ops does not use tracking for targeted advertising, browser Do Not Track signals do not change how the site operates. You can use browser settings to block or delete cookies, but some sign-in or checkout features may stop working.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to run the shop, complete and support orders, preserve production records, comply with tax, accounting, legal, and security obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. Uploaded production files and order records may be retained so we can remake, support, document, or audit a job unless deletion is required or approved.

Your choices

You can ask Layer Ops to review, correct, export, or delete personal information connected to you by contacting us. We may need to verify the request and may keep information when required for completed transactions, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, backups, or legitimate business records.

If you receive an operational email from us, you can reply and ask us to update your contact preferences. Transactional, quote, payment, account, security, and order-status messages may still be sent when needed to complete or support a request.

State privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to appeal a denied privacy request. Layer Ops will respond to applicable privacy requests as required by law.

Layer Ops does not sell personal information. If our practices change in a way that requires additional consumer choice links or notices, we will update this policy and the site.

Security and children

We use practical administrative, technical, and access-control safeguards intended to protect personal information. No website or storage system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through project notes or uploads.

Layer Ops is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the site, shop workflow, service providers, or legal requirements change. The version date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Layer Ops through the contact page or by using the contact information you normally use with the shop.
